Why have you chosen social networks as your platform? Most people are using social networks either for work or personally. So it makes sense and even feels natural to use these platforms to communicate very rapidly with our target audience. When people see that their friends are involved they also want to get involved. How can you explain such a big media interest ? We’ve invented nothing. 1 Piece of Rubbish is simply an initiative which reaches and touches everyone. It’s appeal is based on simplicity, simplicity and simplicity. Should inciting or even educating people to be more environmentally conscious have to go through the media? Why have you chosen social networks as your platform?

Most people are using social networks either for work or personally. So it makes sense and even feels natural to use these platforms to communicate very rapidly with our target audience. When people see that their friends are involved they also want to get involved.

How can you explain such a big media interest ?

We’ve invented nothing. 1 Piece of Rubbish is simply an initiative which reaches and touches everyone. It’s appeal is based on simplicity, simplicity and simplicity.

Should inciting or even educating people to be more environmentally conscious have to go through the media?

The job of the media is to communicate this type of initiative to the public. Although 1PoR is a Franco- British idea its potential is evidently global which not doubt explains the extent of the media coverage. It’s also full of hope and positivity so there’s no reason for anyone not to like it.

Don’t you think this idea is a tad ambitious considering the state of the streets in Marseille?

We already have over 2200 ambitious people reacting in the streets in Marseille, NYC, LA, Argentina, Croatia, Oslo…that’s not bad heah!

What has been your biggest surprise after only one month?

Honestly the number of people already involved is phenomenal and the style of some of the photos considering it’s not exactly a glamorous subject

What are the limits to your cause ?

Apart from each having our own boundaries as to what we pick up (and the age & quality of the whisky we drink) the sky is the limit.

What are the 3 measures that you would urge the local and regional councils of Marseille to adopt?

Our initiative has already been embraced on an international level so whatever the measures are they will undoubtedly be on a global scale.

What are the up and coming actions for 1PoR ?

First and foremost we‘re going to look at our structure to move forward with the necessary resources… And then we’re going to haddle all the crazy ideas that people are throwing at us )))
